The Majapahit Empire, from 1293 CE to 1527 CE, was the last great Hindu empire in Southeast Asia. Centered in modern-day Indonesia, the empire influenced politics, religion, and trade across the region.Mythology in the Majapahit period was a blend of Hinduism and indigenous beliefs. The mythical Garuda, a bird-man creature, and the naga, a serpent being, were prominent symbols of power and divine protection.
